Business Sweden and the Embassy of Sweden in Japan are pleased to announce the fourth annual occurrence of the **Sweden-Japan Sustainability Summit**, which this year will be taking place in the afternoon of the **3rd of December 2024**. The Sustainability Summit is the highlight of the yearly Pioneer the possible platform, gathering Swedish and Japanese stakeholders to jointly address societal challenges.

This year, we will have the pleasure to welcome a **ministerial and high-level business delegation** from Sweden to attend the summit in Tokyo. Attendees to this year’s event will have the chance to hear directly from several leaders from the Swedish government as well as from some of Sweden and Japan’s largest companies on how they are working together to tackle the sustainability challenge. 

The summit will be focused around the themes of circularity, net-zero healthcare, smart and energy-efficient manufacturing, and next-generation electromobility. There will be inspirational and informative keynote presentations, panels, and discussions on the above topics. A major part of the summit will also be dedicated to cross-sectoral break-out sessions aimed at finding concrete solutions to common challenges.

The summit will be followed by a high-level networking reception starting from 19:00.

Sweden-Japan Sustainability Summit 2024

We are pleased to announce the 3rd edition of the **Sweden-Japan Sustainability Summit**, taking place on **14 February 2024**. The Summit marks a highlight of the Pioneer the possible platform, gathering Swedish and Japanese stakeholders to jointly address societal challenges.

The Summit is organized by Business Sweden and the Embassy of Sweden in Tokyo gathers forward-thinking – pioneering – Swedish and Japanese stakeholders with the aim to promote Swedish and Japanese collaboration to address sustainability challenges and boost the development towards a decarbonized economy and society. This year’s Summit will be focused around two key themes – Mobility and Circularity – in each of which a concrete challenge has been defined and where we are now calling for Swedish and Japanese to come together to co-create impactful solutions and initiatives. Aside from inspirational and informative keynote presentations and a panel discussion, a major part of the summit will be dedicated to discovering how we can work together to find solutions to these challenges and accelerate the green transition through cross-sectoral break-out discussions.

Sweden-Japan Sustainability Summit 2023

We are pleased to announce that Sustainability Summit is back for its' second year! The 2022 Summit is the main event of the Pioneer the possible platform, gathering Swedish and Japanese stakeholders to jointly address societal challenges.

For this year’s program, around 100 of the most forward-thinking Swedish and Japanese businesses, government representatives and experts will gather to discuss joint ways forward in combating climate change. The summit will be focused around three key themes selected for this year – Circularity, Energy, and Mobility – in each of which a concrete challenge has been defined around which we are now calling for partners to come together to co-create impactful solutions and initiatives. Aside from inspirational and informative keynote presentations and a panel discussion, a major part of the summit will be dedicated to how we can work together on these challenges and accelerate the green transition in cross-sectoral break-out discussions.

Sweden and Japan join forces to find new ways to tackle sustainability challenges.
For years you have heard about initiates from Swedish activists, companies, scientists and public sector 
leading the way on sustainability. Now is the time for Sweden and Japan to join forces, by working 
together cross sectors and borders we can achieve more faster, as we are racing against advancing 
climate change. Please join us to pioneer the possible and become sustainability pioneers. We will share 
experiences and inspiration from Sweden and Japan to show that radical actions are possible and invite 
you to join a cross-sector and cross-border team of sustainability pioneers! The more can join the better 
for the planet!
Sweden’s minister of Infrastructure will be joining this high level summit remotely from Sweden.
